Emerald Pearl Granite

Emerald Pearl Granite is officially known as Larvikite and is quarried in Larvik, Vestfold, Norway1. This granite takes an excellent polish and gives a shimmering effect when light hits it.

Just like Blue Pearl which is also from Norway this granite has been used extensively in several applications including exterior cladding, kitchen worktops and luxury furniture. This granite is extremely hard wearing and gives a beautiful shimmering effect when natural light hits its surface. This is due to the granite being packed with feldspar crystals2.

This stone is graded from commercial quality all the way up to 1st grade. The main difference between commercial grade emerald pearl granite and 1st grade is the background and the uniformity. Commercial grade will have a dull silver green background where a 1st grade block will be off a deep emerald green colour with very clear feldspar crystals. Below you can see a 1st grade Emerald Pearl Granite slab.

Emerald Pearl combines beautifully with the colour white, cream and the natural woods. It is no surprise to see either of these used in kitchen units or any other furniture which is combined with Emerald Pearl granite. This granite can also be used in a solitary piece of furniture. An instance of this is shown in the square granite dining table below.

Emerald Pearl is an excellent option if you are looking for a dark green granite which will elevate the luxury of any area it is applied to. Not only this you will benefit from an extremely durable, practical material which magnificently shimmers in the light.
