Azul Platino Granite

Azul Platino granite has a light grey background and fine graining. The slab has a mottled appearance black and white speckling. This granite may also have small black spots scattered across the surface. When this granite is exposed to light it gives off a faint shimmering effect which has a platinum blue sparkle.

The reason for this effect is the due to the feldspar crystals1 embedded inside the granite. The name Azul Platino in English translates to Platinum Blue (the granite is named after it’s shimmering effect under light).

Azul Platino granite is quarried in Trujillo, Cáceres, Spain2.

This granite is an extremely popular choice for kitchen worktops especially for those who want to lighten their kitchen area and create the illusion of more space. An added bonus of this granite is, how it can combine with a wide range of different flooring applications, such as natural wood and stone tiles. Azul Platino can also often be seen in commercial settings such as large scale flooring projects and in coffee shop or granite restaurant tables.

If you are looking for an affordable light coloured granite Azul Platino is an excellent choice. The large size of slabs for this stone make it an especially appealing material for projects such as kitchen countertops and stone dining tables where you want to minimise or eliminate the need for joints.

Additionally, the beautiful mottled appearance of this stone doesn’t show up every single little mark from typical every day life. This makes Azul Platino an easy granite to maintain.

Add in the stunning silvery blue shimmer effect you get when this granite is exposed to light you start to see how the affordable Azul Platino  is one of the best value granites on the market.
