Natural Materials Policy

Many the items for sale on Prestige Edition (the “Site”) are made from natural materials. This means there can be variances from item to item in appearance. And it may be different from what is seen in the item image.

Images of Natural Materials on the Site

a) Lighting changes in pictures may make a product appear different from the actual product seen in “real life".

b) Computer monitors often interpret colours in different ways.

c) Natural Materials will vary in appearance from piece to piece and from batch to batch.

Natural Wood Colour and Grain Variations

Colour and grain variations are natural characteristic of authentic wood surfaces. Since no two trees are exactly alike, no piece of wood will be exactly alike. If toners and stains are applied to natural wood the natural variations will be softened but still visible.

The use of toners and stains are not used to reduce the natural variation in pieces of wood but to enhance the unique characteristics of each individual piece.

While great care is taken to match pieces of wood for each piece of furniture, some variation must always be expected due to dealing with a natural material.

The natural variation in wood adds to the natural beauty of using an organic material and provides you with a truly unique piece of furniture. Variations in the wood from those shown in images of the item on the site will not be accepted as a reason for refund or replacement of an item.

Customers interested in a perfectly uniform colour and grain should consider synthetic materials.

Natural Stone Colour and Veining Variations

Natural stone (including marble, granite, onyx and limestone) is a product of nature. Therefore, variations in colour, veining, pattern and texture must be accepted. These naturally occurring variations make each piece of stone unique.

Natural stone comes from a block cut from the earth. It is then cut into slabs from which the finished piece is fabricated. Slabs from the same block will show the least variance whereas the variance between blocks will be more significant.

In the cases where more than one slab is required for the item we will only use slabs from the same block.

Variations in the stone from those shown in images of the item on the site will not be accepted as a reason for refund or replacement of an item.

Customers interested in a perfectly uniform colour and grain should consider synthetic materials such as quartz.
